Meet the Staff
Barbara Director of Finance and Administration
Barbara is Florida Prosthodontics’s Director of Finance and Administration with over 44 years of experience in the dental field. She originates from Cleveland, Ohio and began her career as a Certified Dental Assistant in 1974. She relocated to Merritt Island in 1981 and joined Dr. Raj Rawal in 1983. Over the years, Barbara has become knowledgeable both in terms of the changing dental environment with new innovations and also the value of patient relationships where compassion, trust and caring are integral to taking care of each patient’s needs. She has thus built priceless relationships with the patients at Florida Prosthodontics over the past 35 years in this practice. Barbara takes great pride in relating to each Doctor’s sense of perfection and enthusiasm in serving patients.
Barbara resides in Merritt Island with her husband, Paul, and has two sons Matthew and Ryan. Matthew resides in Orlando and Ryan in California. She enjoys animals, especially her dog Riley and a Blue-fronted Amazon parrot. She also enjoys sports, especially watching football and the Orlando Magic basketball team. Her favorite hobby is gardening and working outdoors in her flower gardens.
Cathy Director of Operations and Resources
After interning with Dr. Raj Rawal for six weeks as a participant of the Brevard Community College Dental Program, Cathy joined Florida Prosthodontics’ winning team in 1998 on a full-time basis. She loves working together, providing excellent service to our patients. Over the years Cathy has not only grown as a caregiver, she has also learned to give service with great understanding and empathy for all patients.
In 2013 Cathy graduated with honors with a master’s degree in business from Kaplan University. In 2015 she transitioned from dental assisting to the front office position of appointment coordinator. This furthered her ability to offer the best patient care possible allowing her to utilize her knowledge from the clinical side to help answer any questions or concerns patients may have when scheduling treatment.
In 2018 Cathy became the director of operations for Florida Prosthodontics. Today Cathy oversees the daily operations of the office as well as managing and coordinating patient scheduling. In addition, she manages marketing efforts to educate the community on the opportunities Florida Prosthodontics can give for those wanting to “Get back their smile- Get back their life”
Cathy moved to Florida from Kentucky in 1985. She lives in Port St. John with her husband Tommy, her beautiful Siberian Husky named Malakai and two adorable funny cats named Kiah and Sage. She has two sons, Boo (Thomas) who lives and works in West Palm Beach and Brandon who attended film school at NYU in New York City and now lives in Titusville, FL.
In her free time Cathy enjoys decorating, crafting, photography, playing musical instruments and anything else that challenges her to be creative. She also enjoys running with her dog, bike riding, and long walks as well.
Michelle J. Appointment Coordinator
Michelle was born and raised in Massachusetts and has lived in Florida for the last 20 years. She is a graduate of Worcester Technical Institute in the dental assisting program, Class of 1993 and went right into the dental field as a Certified Dental Assistant. The most enjoyable benefits from her career in the dental field is the satisfaction of helping people smile again. Giving people exceptional customer service is important to Michelle and she likes making patients feel comfortable during their appointments and that they are part of the dental family here at Florida Prosthodontics.
Michelle is happily married to her husband, Bryan, who is also in the dental field working as a dental technician in his family owned dental laboratory. She has two wonderful step-sons, Logan and Mason and a very energetic rat terrier/chihuahua named Bruno Wrigley. Michelle joined the team at Florida Prosthodontics in August of 2017.
In her spare time, Michelle loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys cooking and baking for her family, reading and going to the beach. Michelle especially enjoys watching any sport that involves her New England teams.
Renee Registered Dental Hygienist
Renee was born in a little town in South Florida called Lantana. She attended Lake Worth High School where she met her husband Robert. Together they moved to Brevard County in 1986, and Renee then attended Valencia where she received her degree in dental hygiene, with honors in 1990.
Renee has a daughter named Penny, who has a degree in dance education. She works as a director of a dance program at a local magnet school.
Renee has been caring for patients and their hygiene needs for the past 28 years and she is proud to be a part of the Florida Prosthodontic team. Outside the office she enjoys being in nature and walking her dog Gracie.
Tiffany Registered Dental Hygienist
Tiffany was born and raised in Merritt Island. After graduating from Merritt Island High School, she moved to Orlando for a few years while attending college. She attended Brevard Community College where she completed the dental assisting program and soon returned to earn her dental hygiene degree in 2007. That same year Tiffany married her husband Noah and purchased their first home in Sebastian Fl. Living in Sebastian for nine years, Tiffany worked as a dental hygienist at a family practice in Vero Beach. Her family moved back to Merritt Island two years ago because they love this area, family is local, and it is a great location to raise children. Tiffany is a mom to two very active and adventurous sons, Gavin and Connor. When she is not at work she spends time with the boys. In her personal time Tiffany enjoys boating, spending time in the yard, and going to the beach with her family. She also enjoys yoga.
Mariah Certified Dental Assistant
Mariah started her college education at Brevard Community College and graduated in 2008 with an associate of arts degree. She continued directly into the dental assisting program and graduated in 2009 and is also recognized by the Dental Assisting National Board as a Certified Dental Assistant. Mariah joined the Florida Prosthodontics team in August of 2009 and is currently the lead dental assistant responsible for chairside operations.
Over the years Mariah has discovered how fulfilling it is to build relationships with patients over time, and she feels that many of Florida Prosthodontics’ patients have become like family. Mariah enjoys the feeling when a patient is excited that they have achieved the smile they have wanted for so long, and to be a part of that journey is really special to her.
In her personal life, Mariah has two beautiful Border Collies named Timber and Tyson. She is a lifelong resident of North Brevard county, and she enjoys the wildlife that she experiences from her own backyard. She has an interest in photography, so she frequently takes pictures of sunrises, owls, and anything else that is beautiful that crosses her path.
Heather Dental Assistant
Heather’s first interest in working in the dental field was while in high school. She had the opportunity to shadow with the team at Florida Prosthodontics and through this “On the Job Training” experience she was able to see firsthand what a dental assistant does on a daily basis.
Following high school, she attended Brevard Community College and attained her postsecondary certificate in phlebotomy in 2012. However, Heather then soon realized that her true passion and interest still remained with the dental field.
In 2013 Heather was given the opportunity to join Florida Prosthodontics. While continuing to work, she then went to Brevard Community College and attained her dental assisting degree in 2017. Heather feels that the opportunity she was given has been a tremendous learning experience and has given her a solid foundation with which to offer the best patient care possible. Getting to know all the patients on a personal level and helping them achieve the smile they deserve is one of the most rewarding aspects that Heather enjoys everyday.
In her personal life, Heather is a true Floridian. She loves spending her free time with her friends and family, cooking, going shopping, and finding different ideas in Pinterest to re-create.
Amber Dental Assistant
Amber believes that everyone deserves compassionate, courteous, and quality care and this is what inspired her when choosing a career in dental assisting. Amber graduated from Brevard Community College with an associate of arts degree in 2012, Florida State College at Jacksonville in 2015 and became a certified dental assistant. Shortly after, she began working in a Children's Dental Health clinic as a full-time dental assistant.
In June of 2017, Amber joined Florida Prosthodontics where she continues to expand her knowledge of patient care. Working with the doctors at Florida Prosthodontics gives her the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art dental technology that very few offices have, and she enjoys expanding her knowledge to provide the best in patient care in an environment that is always evolving.
As a native of Brevard County, Ambers enjoys the outdoors which include the beach, riding jet skis, and grilling at the pool. Lastly, She has two cats, Venus and Leia, who she loves dearly.
Angel Dental Assistant
At the age of 10, Angel went to live with her aunt and uncle and one of the biggest reasons was to have more chances and opportunities in education. Learning a new culture, language and making friends was eminently challenging, but Angel persevered and today enjoys the benefits of mastering not only a second language but being a part of a second culture as well.
Angel thinks that attending school for dental assisting and becoming a certified dental assistant was the best decision she has ever made. She chose dental assisting as a career because she relishes having conversations with people. Angel feels this career is exciting and that she has the drive to really grow to serve the patients at Florida Prosthodontics in the best way possible. Angel feels that she is doing something meaningful every day which reinforces her commitment to dental assisting.
In her free time, Angel enjoys being a model for gun companies and one of her most fun pastimes is when she is able to spend time on the gun range.
Jasmine Dental Assistant
Jasmine was born in Fort Worth Texas but grew up in Waycross GA where she attended Waycross Middle School and joined the middle school band. She then attended Ware County High School where she participated in the marching band and jazz band and graduated in 2006. She later joined the US Navy in 2010 and served as both active duty and a reservist. Being in the Navy taught Jasmine social skills, core values, and teamwork.
While transitioning out of the Navy Jasmine decided to move to Orlando, FL in 2014 and decided to choose a career change to dental assisting and attended and graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute. She feels that being a dental assistant is a rewarding career, and loves to educate patients so they can better understand their treatment needs, while also having compassion and understanding for what patients want long term.
Jasmine feels that being a part of Florida Prosthodontics’ team gives her a working atmosphere were its like working with family and treating our patients like family as well. It’s great to be in an environment where patient care is priority, and your “co-workers” or” Doctors” are not just people you work with but a family.
In her personal life, Jasmine is currently a student at Seminole State College where she is studying Sociology and Social Work. Her hobbies are volunteer work with children and education, music, reading, and art. She also enjoys sports and outdoor nature trails.
Pennie Dental Assistant
Pennie was born and raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She graduated from Magruder High School in 2002. Before deciding to enter the dental field as a dental assistant, Pennie worked in marketing for five years. She feels that becoming a dental assistant eight years ago was the best decision she has ever made because Pennie enjoys helping people in the community. Most of all Pennie enjoys coming to work at Florida Prosthodontics so much that she does not consider it a job.
For Pennie, her beautiful three-year-old daughter Sophia is the highlight of her life. Sophia keeps Pennie on her toes as she is super smart and very witty for someone her age.
Pennie decided to move to Florida in January 2017 with her daughter and grandparents. She attended Dental Assisting Institute in Pinellas Park, Florida to obtain her certificate in dental assisting and radiography. She joined the team at Florida Prosthodontics’ in October 2017.
In her spare time, Pennie is attending Valencia College studying to obtain her associates in science degree for Dental Hygiene and hopes to graduate in 2021.
